6.1. String is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us to delete it.
7.1. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page, and the “Last updated” date will be revised accordingly.
8.1. String: Gift Message Sync is a free Shopify app. It copies values from a Shopify store’s orders (the order note, note attributes such as a gift message, or order metafields) into fields on the matching ShipStation shipments. This section describes the data the app handles, in addition to the rest of this policy.
8.2. What the app stores: For each Shopify store that installs the app, String stores:
8.3. Order data: The app has read-only access to the store’s orders and reads only the fields the merchant maps. It writes those values to ShipStation and does not keep them. It does not store customers’ names, addresses, email addresses, or any other order details.
8.4. How it is used: The app’s data is used only to sync that store’s mapped fields to ShipStation. It is not sold or used for advertising, and it is shared only with ShipStation, to write the values the merchant asked for, and with Google Cloud, which hosts String.
8.5. Retention and deletion: Uninstalling the app stops all syncing. The store’s data is kept so that reinstalling picks up where it left off, until Shopify asks String to erase it 48 hours after the uninstall; String then deletes everything listed in 8.2. A merchant can also ask us to delete it sooner at paul@meetstring.com.
8.6. Customer requests: Because the app keeps no information about a store’s customers, there is nothing for String to provide or erase when Shopify forwards a customer’s request to see or erase their data.
